Between 2018 and 2019, the number of on-demand audio streams in the United States grew by 32 percent, whereas video streams grew by 10.6 percent. Music streaming may make up the majority of the industry's revenues, but audio streaming growth in particular has slowed significantly in recent years, dropping from by around 50 percent since 2016.
