In a survey conducted in Mexico and published in March 2020, around 55 percent of respondents claimed to not know any women who had been beaten by their spouses or partners. The age group least likely to know of a woman in such a situation was made of respondents aged 50 or more, as only 37 percent of them answered affirmatively. On the other hand, 47 percent of respondents within the age group of 18-29 years old said they knew at least one woman whose partner or spouse beats her.
