In a survey conducted in Mexico and published in the month of March 2020, over 55 percent of respondents said they did not know of a woman whose partner or spouse beats her. More men than women responded that they had no knowledge of such a situation (almost 63 percent of the men surveyed, and 48 percent in the case of female respondents). The number of femicides registered in Mexico has more than doubled since 2015.
