Legal aid spending in Scotland amounted to approximately 133.6 million British pounds in 2022/23 compared with 118.4 million pounds in the previous reporting year. Since 2013/14, when legal aid expenditure was 155.3 million pounds, there have been year-on-year declines in the amount Scotland spends on legal aid in the majority of financial years provided.
