Opinion on reimbursement of alternative medicine in France 2019

This statistic represents the opinion of French people on reimbursement of alternative medicine consultation and treatment costs in 2019. The survey shows that 51 percent of respondents thought that the costs of consultations and treatment of alternative medicine should be paid by Social Security at the same reimbursement level as other health care.

Alternative medicine, also called complementary or integrative medicine among others, designates therapeutic practices residing outside classical medical science which originated from oriental, ancestral or innovative traditions. Among those alternative medicines, we can for example find acupuncture (from Chinese medicine), Ayurvedic medicine, herbal medicine, osteopathy or homeopathy.
