There were 57 operational LNG import terminals in Europe as of January 2024. Of these, 14 are FSRU terminals. Europe has greatly increased its LNG import capacity in recent years as countries in the region look for suppliers outside Russia. The greatest number of LNG import terminals are located in France and Spain.
