In 2017, the number of enrolled Phd students in Saudi Arabia amounted to 6.98 thousand students. Over the past few years, there is a challenge around making sure that the PhD students would finish their theses and continue their research after they have graduated. According to the study, the majority of students lose their interest in research within two years of completing their Phd.
