The reconstruction project of Japan's National Stadium led by the Japan Sports Council (JSC) was completed with the total cost of approximately 156.9 billion Japanese yen in November 2019. The construction cost was slightly reduced from the first cost estimate plan in 2015 due to the reconsideration of the building method.
The government agreed to pay half of the expenses and the rest was divided into half between the sports promotion lottery of the JSC and Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
