According to a survey conducted from February 21 to 24, 2020, close to 55 percent of respondents in Japan stated that they had problems with a shortage of masks and disinfections they wanted to use at work. More than 34 percent of the respondents had issues with the halfway-restricted situation in which it was unclear whether they should cancel events or not.
The government announced on February 26 that major cultural or sports events, such as concerts, must be cancelled for the coming two weeks.
