More 11.4 thousand hybrid electric variants of the Hyundai Kona compact SUV were sold in South Korea in 2023. That year, the second generation of Kona models were released into the domestic market, leading to a large increase in sales. The electric variant's sales began in May 2018, with exports launching three months before that. The hybrid variant was first sold in August 2019. The Kona is also available with gasoline or diesel engines.
