This statistic illustrates the share of total volume of merger and acquisition deals in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in 2019, by industry. In MENA, the two leading industries by volume include the banking, insurance & financial services and the computer software sectors, accounting for 25 percent and 18 percent of the total target of M&A deals respectively. MENA was not the only region where computer software companies sought M&A.
