According to a survey conducted in February 2020, nearly two in three Italians aged 18 years and older holding a car insurance policy said that they chose a bonus-malus system to insure their car. However, bonus-malus insurance coverage was more common between men. By contrast, all-risk insurance was more widespread among women (15 percent compared ton nine percent among men). Black box insurance appeared to be the second-most common car insurance coverage type in Italy, both among women and among men.
