EU merchandise trade value with Russia 2020-2023, by flow

European Union (EU) countries exported goods worth over 38 billion euros to Russia in 2023. That was roughly half of the 2020 export value. Imports from Russia were higher than exports to it, at around 51 billion euros in the latest year observed. The trade balance dropped sharply to approximately 147.7 billion euros in 2022 as a result of trade restrictions on Russia over the invasion of Ukraine.
