Credit cards and debit cards per capita in Turkey 2012-2021
The number of credit cards per capita in Turkey had grown from roughly less than one card per person in 2010 to slightly over one card at the end of 2020. Debit cards were found more often in the country, though, as the number per capita of these cards was higher than 2.5 per capita. The numbers provided are estimates, based on the figures central banks have to supply. Owning a payment card does not immediately indicate it gets used often, as there are large differences within Europe when it comes to the use of certain payment methods.
