At the end of 2017, Clydesdale bank had a total of approximately 3 million customers. Although Clydesdale's total number of customers ranges in the millions, it is important that as a bank, the ratio of customers joining is higher than those being lost to competitors. Between the second quarter of 2018 and the first quarter of 2020, Clydesdale bank as consistently had more customers switching away from their services than switching to.
