In 2022, IOI Group owned approximately 173,820 hectares of oil palm plantations. Almost 90 percent of the total oil palm planted area that were owned by IOI Corporation Berhad were located in Malaysia. IOI's biggest income was generated from its palm oil plantations, and it is one of the world's largest palm oil companies. Besides owning refineries in the US and the Netherlands, IOI also owns palm oil plantations in Indonesia, with Bumitama Gunajaya Agro as its associate company.
