Children diagnosed with asthma in England 2018, by gender and age
In 2018, 20 percent of boys and 12 percent of girls aged between 10 and 12 years in England had been diagnosed with asthma, the highest prevalence for both genders across the age groups. Overall, 12 percent of boys and seven percent of girls in England are living with asthma. Asthma usually starts in childhood, and although there is no cure for the disease some children grow out of asthma once they become teenagers and adults.
