According to a 2023 survey conducted by Rakuten Insight, about 31 percent of respondents stated that they intended to purchase a smart speaker, while 39 percent did not know if they would buy one. In the same survey, about 58 percent of respondents stated that they did not own a smart speaker.

The survey was conducted among 6,268 female and 4,832 male respondents in Indonesia. Other surveyed countries included China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam.
