Entertainment licensing by venue type in England & Wales

The majority of premises licenses to hold entertainment in England and Wales were for venues providing recorded music entertainment, such as nightclubs. Including certificates given to clubs (such as cricket clubs and working men's clubs), over 90 thousand of such venues had entertainment licenses in 2017. Live music venues accounted for the second highest number of entertainment licenses at around 77 thousand in total.
