Number of privacy violation cyber crimes reported in India 2022, by leading state

In 2022, the northern state of Uttar Pradesh in India had the highest number of cases reported about online privacy violations with more than 115 cases registered with the authorities. The country recorded approximately 423 cases of online privacy violations that year. This category of crime came under the purview of Section 66E of the Indian Penal Code.
