As of February 2024, India recorded seven instances of internet shutdowns that lasted between 24 hours to 72 hours. In the previous year, there were 31 instances of internet blackouts lasting up to three days across the country. Overall, 74 of the 381 internet shutdowns occurred between 2013 and 2019, lasted up to 72 hours in the south-Asian country.
