Quarterly net income of Citigroup 2007-2023

The quarterly net income of Citigroup decreased overall between 2007 and 2023. The highest registered quarterly income was measured in the fourth quarter of 2008, at 17 billion U.S. dollars. The quarter with the lowest income was the fourth quarter of 2017, when the bank saw an income loss of almost 19 billion U.S. dollars. The income of Citigroup remained relatively stable in the following quarters, only the economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic had a negative effect on its quarterly income. As of the fourth quarter of 2022, the net income of the bank decreased again, compared to the previous quarters. In 2022, each quarter saw a negative income growth rate.
