In a survey conducted from 2018 to 2019 in the Asia Pacific region, regarding whether or not digital transformation and new technologies are essential in improving higher education, 79 percent of the respondents strongly agreed that digital transformation was indeed essential to improving higher education. Alternatively, for the same survey only one percent of the respondents somewhat disagreed, thinking digital transformation was not essential to improving higher education in the Asia Pacific region.

Respondents were split into two categories: one which targeted the leadership of higher education institutions and a second which was targeted at representatives in higher education institutions. This survey question was asked to the second category.
There was a 'strongly disagree' option, however none of the respondents chose this answer.
