In 2019 clubs in the Fairfield local government area turned a net profit of 179.66 million Australian dollars in poker machine revenue in the six months between December 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019. This profit was raised across 19 clubs and a total of 3,350 electronic gaming machines in the area. The majority of local government areas ranking in the top ten were located in Sydney's western suburbs.
EGM revenue by local government area is separated into two categories based on the type of premises hosting the EGM, which can be either a 'club' or a 'hotel'. In 2019 the Sydney local government topped the list of hotel revenue from electronic gaming machines.
