Approximately 227 foreign tourists arrived in India on an e-tourist visas between October 2021 and March 2022. The visas issued in this time were for a limited number of days with single entry.
This number was significantly lower compared to the previous years due to the impact from the coronavirus pandemic years. The south Asian country restored the regular e-visa process for about 156 countries in March 2022, the same time as it resumed scheduled international flights.
