In 2019, the sales volume of green vehicles of domestic brands in South Korea exceeded 100 thousand for the first time. The leading fuel type of green vehicle sales was Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), with around 76 thousand unit sales accounting for 68.9 percent of the total green vehicle sales volume of domestic brands.
In South Korea, the number of people who choose eco-friendly cars is steadily increasing due to the change in the public's awareness of fuel efficiency, the government's policy to expand eco-friendly hydrogen and hydrogen stations, and fine dust.
