However, the number of online shops accepting card payments has been gradually growing since 2016. By the third quarter of 2023, over 48 thousand online platforms accepted card payments.

Electronics, fashion, and furniture items brought in most of the revenue distributed in the Hungarian e-commerce market in 2023. According to a forecast, until 2028, the total e-commerce revenue could exceed 2.8 billion dollars. Over one-third would be generated from sales of consumer electronic products and over 6.2 billion dollars from fashion items.
