In 2024, the global in-store or brick-and-mortar retail channel generated an estimated 21.8 trillion U.S. dollars in sales. Total retail sales (online and offline retail) worldwide amounted to around 29 trillion U.S. dollars that year. By 2028, it is estimated that the value of e-commerce retail sales will reach 10.4 trillion U.S. dollars on a global scale.
