According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight, around 51 percent of female Malaysian respondents said that they consumed a functional beverage for the health benefits claimed, compared to around 48 percent of male respondents. Non-alcoholic beverages touting numerous added health benefits have been gaining a foothold in the drinks market, as more consumers are becoming increasingly health-conscious.
