Electricity prices in the wholesale market have even more than doubled for some countries in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) during the observed period. In September 2024, the highest electricity prices in the region were recorded in Romania, where over 109 euros had to be paid for one MWh. For comparison, in Czechia, the wholesale price of one MWh was nearly 82 euros.
