In a survey held in March 2019 regarding the wagering habits of people who placed an online bet in Australia, 75 percent of respondents indicated that they had wagered on horse racing and just over 50 percent had placed a sports bet. Betting on current affairs and eSports were the least popular forms of gambling amongst the respondents.

Survey participants responded to the question "Which of the following did you place bets on during the past 12 months? (either online or offline)"

Online wagering refers to electronically placing a bet via a mobile/smartphone, computer (e.g. PC or laptop), tablet (e.g. iPad), smart TV, internet telephone (e.g. VoIP), or by telephone call.

Percentages do not total 100% due to participation in multiple activities.
