The balance of payments of international loans of Russia saw an increase from 2017, when the negative balance of nearly 150 billion Russian rubles was recorded. That meant that the country’s lending volume was by far greater than loan repayments. In 2019, Russia accounted for 35 billion Russian rubles more in foreign loan repayment volume relative to the aggregate amount lent over that period.
