Investors in the United States invested the most capital into the travel and tourism industry of any country, reaching 209 billion U.S. dollars in 2019. China came second in the ranking, with total capital investment accounting for 169.9 billion U.S. dollars. These two countries also held the highest direct contribution to GDP in 2019.
