According to data released by Ipsos in 2019, around 19 percent of respondents in Japan thought that the revolution in digital technology will transform their country's democracy for the better. Approximately three percent of respondents strongly agreed with this statement. The ratio of Japanese respondents agreeing with the statement was much lower than the global average, which amounted to around 44 percent.
