Between 2014 and 2020, the consumption value of the stationery sector in Italy decreased overall. As of 2014, consumer expenditure in this industry decreased by 1.1 percent in comparison with the previous year. Only in 2016 did consumer expenditure for this product category increase (0.9 percent). Nevertheless, the year-on-year consumption value decreased again during the following years, dropping by 14.3 percent in 2020. As of 2022, this value added up to six percent.
