New digital payments are developing fast in Italy. The data in the graph present the value growth of the different new digital payment methods in the country in 2019. It can be seen that contactless payments increased by 56 percent compared to the previous year. However, the most impressive growth was recorded by mobile and wearable payments, which increased by 109 percent compared to 2018. By contrast, e-commerce payments increased by only 15 percent in 2019.
