The findings of a survey by Ipsos in 2019 revealed that the most important factor that could help a man in Russia to get ahead was to have connections, as per 56 percent of respondents. Men's appearance was not a major success factor, while it was the second leading component for women to get ahead. While 36 percent of respondents considered women's looks one of the most important success factors, only five percent said the same about men. Qualifications were also valued higher among men than women.
