Opinions toward the environmental impact of food in the U.S. 2019, by age group
As of 2019, a survey was carried out among U.S. (United States) consumers on the impact food has on the environment. It was found that only 32 percent of the "baby boomers" interviewed, i.e those aged between 54 and 72, were willing to spend more on environmentally-friendly food. By contrast, more than half of those belonging to the "generation Z" stated they would spend more on food which doesn't harm the environment. Similarly, 74 percent of the U.S. Millennials participating in the survey declared that they considered environmental sustainability as a value.
