According to a survey conducted by Ipsos regarding the areas to focus on for gender equality in India, a majority of respondents stated that women's representation in politics was the most important area to bride the gender gap. At the same time, around 18 percent of the respondents felt that gender disparity would reduce if men shared the childcare and home responsibilities.
