In a survey conducted by Ipsos in 2019, regarding whether or not new infrastructure should be built in local areas of selected countries across the Asia Pacific region, 78 percent of respondents in China stated they strongly, or somewhat, supported the construction of new infrastructure in their local area. Contrastingly, only two percent of respondents in China stated they strongly, or somewhat, opposed the building of new infrastructure in their local area in 2019.

Original question: "To what extent do you support or oppose, in principle, the building of new infrastructure in your area."
Source defines infrastructure as "things we rely on like road, rail and air networks, utilities such as energy and water, and broadband and other communications." The source defines local area as "the area within 15-20 minutes' walk from where you live."
Participants from 28 countries aged between 18 to 64 years old in the U.S. and Canada and 16 to 64 years old in all other countries.
