According to a survey conducted by Ipsos on the factors hindering women from achieving equality with men in India, at 22 percent, most respondents felt that the lack of financial independence was the most important factor. While thirteen percent of the respondents felt that the government failed to promote women's equality. Globally only 12 percent of respondents viewed financial independence as a key factor which could help women's equality.
