In the survey by IPSOS, 61 percent of Russians responded that the outgoing year 2019 was bad for their country and 47 percent considered it bad for themselves and their families. From the upcoming year 2020, over three quarters of participants had optimistic expectations compared to 2019. Approximately 40 percent of Russians believed 2020 would be rather difficult for their country.
