Among the countries of the CEE region, Estonia achieved the best score (76 points) in 2023, while Russia's transparency index reached only 26 points out of 100 possible.
The index itself is a composite indicator that includes data on the perception of corruption in areas such as public officials' bribery, public procurement kickbacks, state funds embezzlement, and the effectiveness of the government's anti-corruption efforts. The highest possible score in the perception of corruption is 0, whereas a score of 100 indicates that no corruption is perceived in the respective country.
