Belgium: influenza vaccination coverage by region 2018

The flu vaccine is recommended by the Supreme Council of Health in Belgium. However, the vaccination coverage in Belgium was unevenly spread throughout the country's regions in 2018. During that period, Belgians living in Flanders had a higher vaccine coverage than Belgians living in the Brussels-Capital Region.

However, the lowest coverage was found in Wallonia in 2018. Indeed, roughly 21 percent of Walloon respondents had been at least once vaccinated against influenza during that period. When the results are weighted to represent the entire population of Belgium, this represents 15 percent of the entire population of Wallonia. In other words, it is estimated that 15 percent of Belgians living in Wallonia have been vaccinated against influenza at least once in their lifetime.
