Green and sustainable finance of Barclays 2016-2023
Barclays PLC increased the value of social, environmental, and sustainability-linked financing facilitated between 2016 and 2023. Barclays began publishing their sustainable financing results through their Environmental Social Governance report (ESG) in 2016. Prior to announcing their commitment, the bank had facilitated almost 90 billion British pounds in social and green financing. In 2021, the bank financed 69.2 billion British pounds in social, environmental, and sustainability-linked projects, which decreased to 67.8 billion British pounds in 2023.
