In 2023, the number of visitor arrivals in Hong Kong from mainland China amounted to around 26.76 million. After all border restrictions in China were lifted, the traveler numbers to Hong Kong surged, however, they did not reach the pre-pandemic levels. The numbers increased further in 2024, amounting to 16.1 million by the end of June.
