In 2023, the total number of resident departures from Hong Kong amounted to around 72.2 million. Among the five ferry terminals in Hong Kong, Macau Ferry Terminal was the busiest one handling around two million of resident departures. Other ferry terminal barely saw resident departure in that year.

The figure of resident departures at the China Ferry Terminal and Kai Tak Cruise Terminal refer to resident departures with immigration clearance handled by the Section of the Immigration Department in the corresponding terminals separately. The figures also include passengers by cruises to high seas.
From 28 January 2016 onwards, ferry services provided at the Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal have been resumed.
