Bachelor's students comprised the largest percentage of college students in Italy, accounting for 62 percent of the total share. In addition, Master's students constituted a smaller minority of 21.7 percent, reaching 406,000 individuals. In total, the whole country counted 1.9 million students.
The Italian university with the highest number of enrolled students was La Sapienza University of Rome. In the academic year 2022/2023, this institute counted over 103,000 undergraduates.
