In 2023, the total number of passenger departures from Hong Kong increased to almost 106 million. Among the ten land boundary control points in Hong Kong, Lo Wu Control Point was the busiest one handling almost 23 million of outbound visitors. Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Control Point followed with a wide margin, managing around 11 million departures for the city.

Express Rail Link West Kowloon Control Point starts to provide service on 23 September 2018.
Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Control Point starts to provide service on 24 October 2018.
The Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point starts to provide service on 26 August 2020 with only cargo clearance service available at this stage.
Lo Wu Control Point, Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point and Heung Yuan Wai Control Point were set up as "BCP Polling Stations" on 19 December 2021 for electors to return from the Mainland to Hong Kong to vote in the 2021 Legislative Council General Election.
