In 2022, the number of chickenpox cases registered in Spain totaled around 12,700, the lowest value reached during the analyzed period. This figure peaked at over 299,000 infections in 2016. Chickenpox is a contagious disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), with common symptoms including whole-body rash, fever, and tiredness, among others.
